The Skyline Terrorist Survival Kit. Tom Ridge's suggested kit may not be enough. How can you be prepared for a terrorist attack without a martini glass, a can of Ranch Style Beans and a copy of Red Dawn?

I have Red Dawn on both dvd and vhs. I have many cans of beans, but no martini glass. Will a shot glass do?

I personally recommend a flask rather than a martini glass; it's less likely to spill while you're running from terrarists.

My boss' husband got the two of them his and hers' chemical suits and gas masks. No Kidding. I couldn't really afford one, so what I did instead is take my most synthetically fabricated suit and had it dry cleaned with heavy starch. Thanks for some laughs, sixfoot6. I saw Red Dawn on my first wedding anniversary. I was pregnant at the time, which may explain why my son wants a career in the military.

I think by "terrarists", fidelity is referring to terrorists who tend to stay on the ground. These factions are often working in cahoots with "etherrarists", more courageous radicals who tend to use airplanes, hang-gliders and and tall bicycles to carry out their terror. An inmportant distinction. I love the way Ryan's mouth is open in every one of those photos... he's just so excited about assembling the survival kit. Too funny.

Red Dawn was my favorite film by far from ages 12-13. I went way deep into post-apocolyptic literature after that. "On the Beach" "Alas Babylon" "The Postman" (book far superior to the movie) "Malevil" etc. Actually, I was really interested in King Arthur and tales of ancient Greece (my granddad is from Sparta) before that. I think something about the theme of carving order out of chaos that is present in all of these works really appealed to me (ok, less so with "On the Beach." Same for my love of Kim Stanely Robinson's "Mars" triology.

In them you'll find: one 45 caliber automatic, two boxes of ammunition, four days concentrated emergency rations, one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills, one miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible, one hundred dollars in rubles, one hundred in gold, nine packs of chewing gum, one issue of prophylactics, three lipsticks, three pairs of nylon stockings. Shoot! A fella could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.
