The tags say "fine" "art" "illustration" and it's an artist's website. What more do any of us need to know? The only real trouble I have with this post is that it reminded me of the way I always mix up Alex Ross, the comic book painter, and Alex Ross, the New Yorker music critic, and yet, neither of them are Alex Gross, so now I have another layer of confusion to work through whenever I think about this.

Yeah, well... hama7... hmmm. You and me go way back. I'll never forget those crazy Bourbon Street parties, and that one time you did that thing that cracked everyone up. But I have to agree that the one link no explanation FPP does not give this person the introduction I am sure you feel he deserves. And to have to move my eyes ALLLLL the way over to see the tags? Who has the time? Or the superhuman eye-strength? Kidding aside: no explanation FPPs are not usually the best. But, cool site. Interesting artwork. So thanks for that anyway. :)

I love art like this - like Staggering Jack said, it's got a fantasy world other-place-and-time vibe that's really appealing in a just creepy enough way. I wouldn't mind a bit more info on the front page, too, but it's a fine post regardless. Btw, if everyone flags zardoz' pathetic "crap post" comment above - and all others they see like it elsewhere in the blue - we just might have a chance at reducing the asshole no-content insults that seem to be increasing here lately.

Bullshit indeed. Christ, I don't think I'd realized until now how MeFi has gotten overrun by a bunch of whiny, demanding people who don't understand the first thing about it. The worthy hama7 has been making fine single-link posts without explanation since before you pups ever heard of MetaFilter, and until now has gotten nothing but respect for it: "Great stuff," "Thanks for the post," and "Bookmarked!" are typical comments. Suddenly it's "Wah wah I have to have my hand held and everything spelled out for me before I'll do the poster the tremendous favor of clicking on the link." Hint: if you know anything about anything, the poster's name is guarantee enough. If you don't, if you go all limp and fuzzy-brained at the thought of a bare link with nothing but a name and a few tags to go on, then go do something else. Don't piss in the fucking thread. Jesus. Nice stuff as always, hama7. For some reason I particularly like "Oblivion."

adding my whine to the din: come on! this is MeFi. a little context would be nice. granted, I've lurked for (six) years without ever posting myself, but that's because I used to be so intimidated by the well-researched multiple-link informative works of genius that seemed to be the norm. I'd already been to his portfolio site (yesterday, in fact) and wanted a little info beyond that. his glossy new book just came through the mail at work in review copy form... is that why you posted this? his work looks so familiar, but I can't figure out where I've seen it before or who he reminds me of. a cursory google glance was unhelpful and he has no wiki presence...
