I loved this so much, I wish it was longer. Never seen anything quite like it. Thanks for sharing! posted by donuy at 9:01 AM on September 27 [1 favorite]
Is it shared? Are the other messengers players? posted by signal at 9:44 AM on September 27 [2 favorites]
Great short game! If you like this kind of thing, I highly recommend "Sable"! posted by scolbath at 9:54 AM on September 27 [1 favorite]
So peaceful. There's a short AI video floating around of a fictional Ghibli-style game. This game feels like that, but real. Very cool. posted by qxntpqbbbqxl at 11:27 AM on September 27
signal, it does seem like multiplayers are present in the same world. When I played, I was followed about by one person constantly emitting the Poop Emoji. So, yeah.
Once you know what to do it's really short. It's possible to get onto the top of the pipes, and inside the water pipe that emits the waterfall, although it's completely unnecessary to go to either place. posted by JHarris at 1:05 PM on September 27 [1 favorite]
I found a ufo in the forest. (not kidding). Also I suspect something nefarious about Capital Corp. posted by Reverend John at 2:25 PM on September 27
This was so relaxing, thank you so much. I wish it had more objectives and I could keep playing for hours. posted by unid41 at 2:34 PM on September 27
The UFO must belong to the alien sunbathing on the beach. posted by scolbath at 2:51 PM on September 27 [1 favorite]
I propose we adopt Hand, Take-out-box, Compass, Heart to identify ourselves as Mefites to each other.
Hand - greeting
Take-out-box - to contain your plate of beans
Compass - to find the best of the web
Heart - for love posted by Reverend John at 3:07 PM on September 27 [6 favorites]
This was great! Caravan Sandwitch is another full-length game that this reminded me of. posted by rivenwanderer at 4:22 PM on September 27
Can anyone else with a "non traditional" mouse get this to work? Just wondering if I'm missing a trick. (I use a wacom tablet, if that matters.) posted by maxwelton at 6:17 PM on September 27
I'm open to the stinky waterfall. We could have a dance party with the musician. posted by Reverend John at 6:18 PM on September 27
You can use the WASD keys if that helps. Space to jump. posted by Reverend John at 6:19 PM on September 27
Has anyone gotten on that roof via the dumpster and fire escape? There's someone up there. I've gotten very close, but always miss the last jump. Couldn't get in the pipe, either. Also, where is the UFO? Anyway, great game. posted by talking leaf at 7:51 PM on September 27 [2 favorites]
I play a lot of video games, but for some reason this one gave me weird motion sickness... posted by Paladin1138 at 7:56 PM on September 27
UFO is in the Forest on the top of a tall hill, it takes some jumping to get up there. posted by Reverend John at 8:05 PM on September 27 [1 favorite]
Girl on Roof
She tells you about three.js
UFO Location
On top of the hill in the forest where the midlife crisis guy is living.
Ah... Thanks Reverend John! Still trying to get on that roof! I attended the meetup at the Mountain Temple, and the dance party, but couldn't identify any MeFites, alas. posted by talking leaf at 9:10 PM on September 27 [2 favorites]
Yes, I've been checking periodically too, but haven't had any luck yet :-/ posted by Reverend John at 9:33 PM on September 27
I think it's likely that not every player in the game at the same time is in the world. They had to have considered the possibility that the world could get overcrowded and implemented something like sharding. So, multiple Metafilter users could be in there at once but in different versions of the game world. posted by JHarris at 8:53 AM on September 28 [1 favorite]
What a beautiful and unique 3D rendering style! posted by Salvor Hardin at 12:12 PM on September 28
Oh!! YAY :D This was made (primarily?) by Vicente Lucendo, who created a demo version of this in 2023, called Summer Afternoon.
Perhaps the alien says this to everyone, but I wonder if their "I think I've seen you somewhere before" was a nod to me having met him on the earlier beach :)
(I love games that include other players on their own journeys. The most serendipitous digital experience I've ever had was in Journey, accompanying a stranger through the final, icy stages of the game, keeping each other warm.)
This was really pretty and well done. The tiny planet idea is brilliant, and I'm happy that you can do all the deliveries without actually memorizing the map.
Also, I'm amazed this can be done in a browser. posted by zompist at 4:10 AM on September 29

¡°Why?¡± asked Larry, in his practical way. "Sergeant," admonished the Lieutenant, "you mustn't use such language to your men." "Yes," accorded Shorty; "we'll git some rations from camp by this evenin'. Cap will look out for that. Meanwhile, I'll take out two or three o' the boys on a scout into the country, to see if we can't pick up something to eat." Marvor, however, didn't seem satisfied. "The masters always speak truth," he said. "Is this what you tell me?" MRS. B.: Why are they let, then? My song is short. I am near the dead. So Albert's letter remained unanswered¡ªCaro felt that Reuben was unjust. She had grown very critical of him lately, and a smarting dislike coloured her [Pg 337]judgments. After all, it was he who had driven everybody to whatever it was that had disgraced him. He was to blame for Robert's theft, for Albert's treachery, for Richard's base dependence on the Bardons, for George's death, for Benjamin's disappearance, for Tilly's marriage, for Rose's elopement¡ªit was a heavy load, but Caro put the whole of it on Reuben's shoulders, and added, moreover, the tragedy of her own warped life. He was a tyrant, who sucked his children's blood, and cursed them when they succeeded in breaking free. "Tell my lord," said Calverley, "I will attend him instantly." HoME²Ô¾®¿Õ·¬ºÅѸÀ×Á´½Ó
