Entertaining concept, but the execution lacks. It's just a bit too hard to follow what's going on in some of the panels. posted by KirTakat at 9:12 AM on February 20, 2006
Yeah, the action's really tough to follow. I think part of it is that it seems like it's being drawn without attention being paid to the fact that it'll be read onscreen. Like, things might work one way on paper, but not work as well when you can only see some of it because of screen settings.
That's a tough constraint to get used to. posted by COBRA! at 9:30 AM on February 20, 2006
That Hermione is a little tart, huh..
Harry's right. She had it comming. posted by Balisong at 9:40 AM on February 20, 2006
Even with my screen set so I can see all of the panels at once, some action scenes are still impossible to follow.
Overall I'm extremely impressed with the artwork, though. There's some real talent there. posted by tkolar at 9:58 AM on February 20, 2006
It gets weirder and weirder as you go on... posted by themadjuggler at 10:15 AM on February 20, 2006
Neat concept, nice artwork, way too hard to follow, but i'm always happy when Bruce and Bender collaborate.
And Zombie Rick James is a hero worthy concept. posted by quin at 10:17 AM on February 20, 2006
I hate fan art. They're always so cutesy-poo. posted by Astro Zombie at 10:46 AM on February 20, 2006

Kill Bill wasn't already bad enough? posted by rusty at 11:44 AM on February 20, 2006
Page one cool, page two uhuh, page three huhwha, page four wtf, page five omgwtfhuh, page six X.X, page 7...
Neat but I have no idea what the hell is going on. I assumed I just wasn't familiar with the references to anime culture, or that otherwise I was not on the right medication. posted by cavalier at 12:43 PM on February 20, 2006
I take it back. After the whacked out sequence, pages 9-13 are awfully funny. posted by cavalier at 12:48 PM on February 20, 2006
I really liked it. As a mashup, it's only part of a cool idea, and the crazy random sht actually helped it come together. Agree that the physical execution is a little confusing, especially to some one who does not read any violent graphic comics/manga/etc. I really am curious to see the exposition of what went down between Harry and Hermione. posted by allan at 1:17 PM on February 20, 2006
I generally don't have much use for anime or the more arcane aspects of Harry Potter fandom, but what the hell: I laughed. posted by fujikosmurf at 1:51 PM on February 20, 2006
i thought it was pretty great.... but i really wish they hadn't used an anime style. posted by Doorstop at 2:31 PM on February 20, 2006
What exactly is the alternative style? Disney? Comic book? I can't see how any of those would have been an improvement. posted by Mr.Encyclopedia at 4:42 PM on February 20, 2006

¡°Why?¡± asked Larry, in his practical way. "Sergeant," admonished the Lieutenant, "you mustn't use such language to your men." "Yes," accorded Shorty; "we'll git some rations from camp by this evenin'. Cap will look out for that. Meanwhile, I'll take out two or three o' the boys on a scout into the country, to see if we can't pick up something to eat." Marvor, however, didn't seem satisfied. "The masters always speak truth," he said. "Is this what you tell me?" MRS. B.: Why are they let, then? My song is short. I am near the dead. So Albert's letter remained unanswered¡ªCaro felt that Reuben was unjust. She had grown very critical of him lately, and a smarting dislike coloured her [Pg 337]judgments. After all, it was he who had driven everybody to whatever it was that had disgraced him. He was to blame for Robert's theft, for Albert's treachery, for Richard's base dependence on the Bardons, for George's death, for Benjamin's disappearance, for Tilly's marriage, for Rose's elopement¡ªit was a heavy load, but Caro put the whole of it on Reuben's shoulders, and added, moreover, the tragedy of her own warped life. He was a tyrant, who sucked his children's blood, and cursed them when they succeeded in breaking free. "Tell my lord," said Calverley, "I will attend him instantly." HoME²Ô¾®¿Õ·¬ºÅѸÀ×Á´½Ó
